SOUR CREAM COFFEE CAKE

Cake ingredients
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup light brown sugar (firmly packed)
½ cup butter or margarine (one stick)
¼ teaspoon salt
2 eggs (unbeaten)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup commercial sour cream
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda

Cream together sugars, butter, salt, eggs and vanilla.  Place flour in a separate bowl, add baking powder and soda, and mix well.  Add sour cream and flour mixture to creamed ingredients and beat at slow speed with electric beater until very smooth, occasionally scraping sides of bowl.

Topping mixture 
¼ cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup chopped nuts

 Spoon half of the batter into an angel food, bundt or 9”x9” baking pan.  Sprinkle half of topping mixture evenly over the batter.  Spoon balance of batter into pan and top with balance of topping mixture.  Bake in preheated 350 degree (F) oven for 45 to 50 minutes.
